Happy New Year Everyone!
I'm a little late in getting my newsletter out this month, sorry for the delay. This time of year I am preparing for the Philadelphia Home Show and I am excited that I will have a new booth display. My husband is great with projects and he volunteered to build me one. It will be completed tomorrow night. I can't wait.
The new year brings new ideas and projects. Hopefully you are all gearing up to begin those projects you have been putting off. Remember nows the time to take advantage of the specials available.
I have some interesting news this week and a decorating tip I hope you enjoy.
Sincerely,
Teresa Tocco-Davenport, CID

Color Selection Video
This year I will be offering a video on Color Consultation. I was approached to participate in this video along with two other decorators to share our perspectives on selecting the right colors for your home. I will be filming in February and hope to be able to market it in the Spring. So stay tuned.
Courier Post Article
I was recently approached to participate in another article for the Courier Post's Home and Garden Section. This time the article will be on Slipcovers. I am being interviewed this week, once I know the dates of circulation I will post it.
Tuscan Escapes
Over the last few years, the theme/style that has been the most popular is the Tuscan theme. Probably due to the warm earthy colors.
I do not have any one particular style I do for my clients. I will create the theme of your choice. But I have to admit, the Tuscany theme is a lot of fun to create. So much so, I did it in my own home (see article below).
Tuscan themes have a natural charm, an earthy paradise, romantic, can display ancient remnants. It also has a stylish simplicity, it can be light and airy, have an understated grace, and harmony. It offers a classic elegance, a serene sanctuary, a feast of textures, and rural chic. There is also an idyllic artistry with this theme.
Choosing the theme for your home can me challenging. But if you like this style, don't hesitate to begin the process.

Last year my husband and I had our home built and we moved in during the month of September. We have been working very hard at trying to get it completed so we could take pictures for the home show. Well we did quite a bit, even though we need some additional accessories, but it will do for now. Please scroll through our home by clicking on the link below. I chose the Tuscan theme on the main level and the Victorian theme in my basement. The reason for the two themes is I needed newer large scale furniture for the main level due to the high ceilings and I didn't want to get rid of my furniture from our last place so I utilized it in the walk-out basement.
I hope you enjoy.

January's Script for Success
1. Don't take on too much. Weigh the value of each task and take on only what will work.
2. Focus on only one task at a time.
3. Take the time to do it right the first time.
4. Don't major in minors. Get it done, find time later.
5. Finish what you start. Don't start if you can't finish.
6. Prepare each night for the next day's acitivities.
7. Be realistic about the time necessary to complete projects.
8. Allocate time for work, play, family, etc.
9. Review your goals at least once a week.
