Moorestown Day Event
On June 3rd I was an exhibitor for the Moorestown Business Association's Moorestown Day Event. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate so the massive crowds expected did not come to fruition, but I was able to meet new people and establish new relationships. Thanks for stopping by for those of you who were brave souls.
Absolute Living Today Is Presented With An Award
Most of you know already that I am a Big Sister for the Big Brother Big Sister Organization. Recently I was awarded, along with three other local firms a certificate for "Outstanding Committment" to the organization. This award is presented to those local businesses who support the organization by promotion and fund raising activities. I was honored to be recognized for my efforts, but just being a part of the organization is a real honor for me. They really are a special group of people and it's all about helping the kids. Thank you Big Brothers Big Sisters for this special honor.
Fried Liver and Onions Recipe
I know that not many people enjoy liver as a meal, but for us ladies, it is a good source of iron especially during a certain time of the month. So I want to share with you how I cook my liver. It is very simple and fast and tastey. First purchase preferrably calves liver. Use a frying pan and pour as much olive oil as you want in it. Chop up as much onion as you want. Rinse the liver off with cool water and sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides. Again as much as you want. Add the onions to the olive oil and place the liver in the onions. Place some onions on top of the liver. As it is cooking poke it with a fork so the blood runs out and let it brown slightly and then flip it over and do the same on the other side. Cook until medium to well done. Place over some cooked brown rice and pour the fried onions from the pan and leftover olive oil in the pan over the liver and rice. Delicious! I never thought I would find a man who loves liver and fried onions, but I did and we enjoy it once a month.

Reality Decorating versus TV Decorating Shows
Your probably wondering what I mean by my title for this article. Well, I would like to clear up a few things regarding real life decorating procedures versus what you see on these TV shows about decorating. First, as much as I enjoy those shows like you, I get frustrated with them because they are not a true representation of how a decorator does business. As a decorator our job is to provide you with solutions to your decorating challenges. Notice I said "Solutions". In these shows they makeover your home based on some input from you, but they go out and purchase everything without you giving your stamp of approval. A decorator's responsibility is to ask questions to understand what style you want to create and then provide you a couple of alternatives with items, paint selections, fabrics, etc. From those options you choose which one you like better. Both options will work, but you have to love it. It's not about me and my style, it is about you and the style you want. I just help you by giving you options to choose from, this helps in narrowing down and eliminating confusion for you. Most people become overwhelmed when shopping or deciding on colors and fabrics and furniture. We are here to guide you not decide what pieces you like better. Remember you have to live with the creation, not me, so don't you want to be a part of the decision process. After the TV show is over, you don't always know if the homeowner really loved the outcome. Some shows will air excerpts of those couples who were unhappy with the final results, but they are not aired often.
