There was a rough start to the Fall season and the economy has been a challenge, however, believe it or not, many of you are still taking the time and money to make improvements. That is a good thing, the more money invested in the economy the better. Election years have always been years of unsurety, unfortunuately, we have had several unforeseen obstacles during this election. I'm sure we will all vote for the right person whoever that may be. Best of Luck to both candidates.

Holiday Decorating

Tips to follow while decorating for Christmas.
1. Harmonize with your Interior - if space is warm and cozy, choose decorations in shapes and colors that retain that feeling. If space is cool and sleek, decorations should be sleek and sophisticated.
2. Transition from Room to Room - Try to repeat main decorating colors in each room. Find decorations with several colors in them and use one of the main colors in one room, another in an adjoining room, etc.
3. Why Color is So Important - Color evokes strong emotions, choose colors that will draw your eye and make you feel joyous and festive.
4. A Monochromatic Color Scheme - stay in one family of colors, such as hues of red, starting with pink, moving to fushia, rose, cherry, etc.
5. Use Color to Add Texture - use garlands, ribbons, bows, etc.
6. Warm Colors and Cool Colors - Warm colors: reds, yellows and golds; Cool colors: blue, white and silver. Do you want a cozy feeling or a cooler feeling?
7. Tie it up with Ribbon - use lots of ribbon
If you find this challenging, keep in mind I do Holiday Decorating as well and would be happy to stop over and help you decorate. Call to find out more about how the process works.

Using Grout Sealer

Not many people think about the extra step needed to complete the installation of ceramic tile. I recently updated my kitchen and foyer with ceramic tile, and I wanted to make sure I did what the tile companies tell my clients to do and that is seal the grout. It is an easy step, all you do is purchase the grout sealer, you can get it from any tile store, purchase the little sponge sticks, which can be found at a hardware store, clean the floor and test the sealer on the grout to determine how many coats you will need. Just follow the instructions on the back of the can. The sealer protects the grout from grease and dirt and helps maintain the color.
Hydraulic or Pop-Up Tables

Looking for a dining table with dual usage? In trying to come up with a solution for a client who wanted a game table for their library, I fumbled across this unique dining table that converts to a game table using a Hydraulic lift. The table can rise from 21.5"H to 31.5"H. It comes with four stools on casters and with chenille fabric. Its the perfect table to play cards or games on without leaning over and hurting your back and it can be used during the holidays as the kids dinner table to accommodate all the guests. The table is not very high when lifted but it works well for kids.

Today in most furniture stores you will find modern style lift top cocktail tables, allowing you to work on your computer or even eat comfortably while watching TV. This is a really nice gift for yourself and family.

Reese Won the Contest

On a personal note, I wanted to thank those of you who voted for my puppy Reese. He was entered in a contest through the Burlington County Times who is sponsoring the Newspaper in Literacy and Education Program. The top 15 winners will be in the calendar, each associated with a month, but the first place winner, not only is on a month calendar, but he will also be on the Pet Star Calendar Cover. Reese won by 600 votes.
Thanks again.
