Hello Everyone!

We are now in the Fall season. Did you get a chance to switch your closets yet, from your Summer to Winter wardrobe? I didn't, I hope to do it this week. Now's the time to get organized and sort through those items that are just taking up space. Remember if you haven't worn or used it in 2 yrs, give it to charity. Now is also the time to start those Fall projects around the house to get ready for the holidays. Let me know how I can help.

Community Events Success

On September 15 and 16th we participated in two local community events, and I have to say they were the most successful to date. The response was wonderful. I am still going on appointments from those two shows. Thank you for stopping by and browsing through our samples.
Available Programs

Over the last year I started offering Idea Sessions. I want to make sure you understand how they work.
If you are on a budget and would like to utilize my services, you can call me to schedule an appointment and you can meet with me and "pick" my brain for decorating ideas. If during that time you decide to hire me to start or complete a project then we can move forward contractually, but only if you need and want additional help with the whole process. As of October 9, 2007, my hourly fee will increase. If you sign a contract for more than 5 hours of my time the hourly rate is reduced by $25 per hour. Call for pricing and an appointment.

I also offer a 20-30 minute discovery interview for half the rate of my Idea Session fee. It gives us the opportunity to get to know each other and to talk about your project, determine the scope of the project, your expectations of me and I can then provide you an estimated idea as to how many hours it will take for me to handle the whole project or portions of. If we both feel there's a "fit" between us at the end of our 20-30 minutes together, we will talk about the next steps. Does that make sense? The purpose of this interview is to get to know each other and understand your needs. I may provide you with one idea. However, if you want specific advice/ideas, such as where specifically to put the sofa or what color to paint the walls, we can move into an Idea Session, mentioned above, however my regular hourly rate will apply. If you decide you like my ideas and need me to handle all or some aspects of your project and provide you with a presentation board of my recommended pieces, colors, fabrics, window treatments, furniture, floor plans, etc, then we can sign a contract and move forward to an end result. Again, if the contract is for more than 5 hours of my time the hourly rate will be reduced by $25 per hour.

If you sign a contract then I waive the discovery interview fee or Idea Session fee.

If you have any questions about these programs, please call me and I will be happy to explain them in more detail.

Storage...Getting Organized continued

Over the last two months I have shared with you two of the The Four Stages of Life. We started with "First Home" then "Family Home". This month we are focusing on the third stage which is "Home Business".
Many of you do some form of home administration of household paperwork and more and more people are working from home as a telecommuter or a small business. Therefore, we need some form of order to be able to run the business and the home and still keep up your homes appearance.
Some points you should consider would be:
1) To determine if there is room to grow, periodic cleanouts only go so far you need to remember to expect to accumulate a lot of paper. (We are definitely not in that paperless world we were told we would be when computers were introduced)
2) Plan your systems or organization so that visually the space looks neat, unobtrusive and well considered. 3) Stay away from the arrangement of box files and disparate storage containers. Find filing cabinets large enough and asethically nice to accomodate files, but don't just have a room of filing cabinets.
4) Large bookcases with cabinets, desks with lots of shelves and cubby holes and drawers are much needed if space permits. Utilize the walls and mount shelves.

Having my own business in a small home I have learned to spread things around. Shelves in the attic, proper shelving in closets, two large bookcases with cabinets for those items I don't want displayed. I still continue to grow out of my space, but it meets my needs and still looks nice.

Have a great Fall Season and enjoy Halloween.

Sincerely,

Teresa Tocco
