New Subdidiary Opening

I am so excited to announce the Grand Opening of Absolutely Appetizing, LLC a food service division of Absolute Living Today, LLC. My interior decorating business is the parent company and remains to be my primary business, however, I wanted to expand into another realm of something I enjoy and that is cooking. I decided to take some family recipes (in honor of my deceased mother) and share them with the public. I will be selling the products to restaurants, deli's and caterers. The initial product I am manufacturing and distributing are our Italian Stuffed Olives. The recipe is copywritten, however the main ingredients are veal and pork. Even olive haters love these. I will keep you informed as to where you can purchase them.

Winner of Raffle

On September 17, we exhibited at the Moorestown Family Fun Day. Unfortunately the Mt. Laurel Fall Festival was canceled that weekend but Fun Day turned out to be a very well attended event. I was raffling $100 off decorating services and the winner is Terri McCourt from Mt. Laurel, NJ. Congratulations Terri! For those of you who stopped by to say hello, thank you. We were real pleased with how our booth looked this year. We added a beautiful decorative tent with wrought iron and had more displays (see picture).

Limit yourself to no more than 4 egg yolks per week.
Eat several servings of fruit and vegetables each day.
Use olive, safflower or canola oil instead of palm or cocunut oils when cooking.
Rinse canned vegetables to reduce sodium intake.
Chill soups and stews after cooking them to remove hardened fat from the top.
Becoming a "heart healthy" eater may add years to your life and increase your energy and vitality!

Decorative Ceilings

One fear most people have when it comes to decorating is applying decorative ceilings. Since the 1920's and 30's we have see less and less ceilings painted decoratively. We need to reconsider this since decorating ceilings make uninteresting rooms look more distinguished. Today there are so many new materials and methods and updated revivals of old techniques. Some ideas to consider: 1. If you have a reasonable height ceiling add a cornice or crown molding and/or ceiling rosette for a Colonial or Victorian style home. 2. If your ceilings are too high paint the ceiling a darker shade then the walls. 3. If the ceilings are too low use a shimmer paint.

Donated Artwork Needed

Early this year I was approached by Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, NJ to help with decorating their new 4 story Pavilion wing of the hospital. I agreed to donate my time in helping the hospital find South Jersey landscape artists willing to donate one of their South Jersey landscape prints or photographs. So far we have received about 60 donations and need more. If you know of any artists in the area interested in being involved in a worthy cause please have them contact me at 856-234- 6115. All artists who donate a picture will receive exposure through hospital pamphlets, name plates and newspaper articles. In November we will be having a reception for those artists who have donated and we are inviting the local newspapers in hopes of them publishing an article about the artists and their kind deed. Thank you to those artists who have already donated, we appreciate your geneorsity.

Peppers & Eggs Recipe

Growing up my Mom occasionally liked to throw quick meals together and one of her favorites, as well as ours is a peppers and egg sandwich. Very simple to make. Saute 4-6 green, red or orange peppers in olive oil, once peppers are soft add 3-4 beaten eggs, sprinkle salt and pepper and mix in with peppers, stir periodically until egg slightly browns, then add a spoonful or two between two pieces of bread or eat with a fork and boy is it yummy. My boyfriend has his version in which he adds, ham and tomatoes and whatever else he feels like adding and you know what, it tastes just as good. So try both.
