Natural Shades
Natural woven materials have become so popular and are easy to maintain, manage, afford and they look great too.
Some of the material and styles, just to name a few are bamboo, holland mesh or ribcord, etc. I am currently offering them in Natural Folds, Sliding Panels, Roman Fold Shades, Soft Roman Shades and more in a wide selection of colors, like Pecan, Walnut, Cherry, etc. If your interested in a different look and want something simple, you might want to consider these as an option.
Storage...Getting Organized continued
Last month I started an article on The Four Stages of Life, the first stage was mentioned which is, "First Home". This month I will discuss with you the second stage, "Family Home". This is the time of more rather than less, due to the growth of the number of individuals in the home as well as their individual growth from baby to young adult. Children grow so fast, therefore creating a degree of excess and clutter that needs to be sorted. Some Points to consider:
1. Schedule regular clearout sessions with whole family.
2. Rotate belongings, store winter clothing in attic, basement or garages. At the end of Summer switch your closets and drawers with those items for when the Fall comes.
3. Purchase modular storage for games, CD's, videos, etc, it helps with organizing and finding things faster.
4. Have large hallways? Then use those walls for shelves or cupboards.
5. Teach kids when their old enough on tidying up after each play session.
6. Assign dedicated place for important documents and emergency items.
7. Store childrens artwork or models, like paintings and pictures in folders or albums and scrapebooks, if they are not ready to dispose of them yet.
Next month we will discuss the Home Business.
Marshmallow Rolls Recipe
Okay, how many of you have a sweet tooth? This recipe is one we made as kids. We acquired the recipe from our school cooking class and enjoyed it periodically.
Mix 1/2 cup of Sweetened condensed milk and 1/4 cup of water in a bowl.
Then stir in 1/2 lb small marshmallows, 1/2 cup chopped nuts of your choice, 1/2 cup dried dates and
2 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs.
Shape into a roll about 3 inches thick and 6 inches long.
Wrap with plastic wrap and put in refrigerator for at least 12 hours.
Cut roll into ten slices.
This is a nice dessert for entertaining.
Just an update on Absolutely Appetizing. We are waiting on a large grocery chain to approve our olives, will keep you posted if it comes to fruition.
Sincerely,
Teresa Tocco
