Email Newsletter Archive - September 2005

Dear Subscriber,

Welcome to Absolute Living Today's monthly newsletter. This last month has been an exciting month for Absolute Living Today. The company was awarded an Italian restaurant the beginning of August and the project is in progress. Being Italian, this has been a fun project for me, I was able to add a little of my own Italian flare to it. When it is complete I will tell you where it is and you can take a look.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Oganization

Over a year ago I was fortunate to be accepted as a Big Sister for the Burlington County Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization. I have been matched with a beautiful young lady. Our friendship has been a blessing for the both of us. My little's name is Melissa and she is 13 years old. In April she had a school assignment to write a letter to someone special in her life. Her mother gave me that assignment because it was directed to me and I cried. I will give you a few excerpts from it, "you helped me a lot with my problems", "I am writing to you because I never said thank you", "We had a lot of fun and I will never forget how better you made me feel, I think I helped you out too." She is absolutely right, we helped each other out, that's what is so special about being a part of this organization. If you have thought about being a Big Brother or Big Sister, but wasn't sure if you were right for the commitment, take my word it will be well worth it. It is very rewarding in so many ways. Decorating Tip - Create Convenience With Furniture Arrangement

Basic Rule: COMFORT

Establish a center of interest
Discover the paths traffic takes
Consider scale and balance
Plan rooms for more than one use

So what does all this mean, you ask? The "center of interest" can be a fireplace, a garden view or exciting picture arrangement. Select which one it is and dramatize it by arranging furntiure to draw attention to it. "Paths" are the obvious areas by which people get in and out of the room. Arrange furniture so no traffic lane can disturb a conversational grouping when passing through it. "Scale and balance" need to be considered when planning the layout of your furnishings so all items are the right size for each other. Be sure to balance your room so the heavy pieces are not all in one spot and light ones in another spot. To make the most of a "big room" so it can be used for several occasions, arrange the furniture so games, dining, conversation, TV viewing, reading have separate undistrubed areas. Make sure each area is not disturbed by traffic. Now plan your furniture around the center of interest you selected. If your still struggling, then schedule a "Free Discovery Interview" today to get the help you need.

September Environmental Checklist

You can help save our water supplies, lakes, bays, rivers and oceans by helping to reduce the hazardous materials that go down the drain. These steps can help save our environment from further damage.

Buy cleaners and household products marked non- toxic.

Use only the amount of chemicals you absolutely need. Take care to prevent spills.

Use kitty litter or commercial absorbent material to get oil off of your sidewalk. Do not hose them down. Depending on the chemical absorbed, dispose of materials in your trash or at a hazardous waste collection program for disposal.
Take all old chemicals and containers to a hazardous waste collection program for disposal.

Use a broom, not a hose, to clean up clippings. Leaves and grass are pollutants when they enter water systems.

Rinse paint brushes in the sink. Filter and reuse thinners and cleaners if you must use them. Don't dump thinner in the sink. Take it to a collection center.
Recycle all resuable materials. Throw litter into trash cans and keep the lids tight to prevent spills caused by neighborhood critters. Use pesticides and herbicides as little as possible in your garden. Do not apply if rain is in the forecast.

Take used motor oil and anti-freeze to a recycling center.
Maintain your car free from leaks. Keep your vehicle tuned up.
Our environment is precious and it is up to us to maintain its health. Follow the tips above and we will accomplish a healthy environment.
