This holiday season I had the opportunity to spend
time marketing my stuffed olive recipe and I was pleased
with the results. Two deli's purchased my olives and
were sold out before the new year. They approached
me for more, but at this time I need to move to the
next step of the research process which is approaching
food manufacturers and distributors to see if they
would be interested in working with me on a private
label for a frozen food product. I am real excited
in this new endeavor and I will keep you posted.

Good Lighting is an Essential Part of Your Decorating
- Continued
Over the last two months I have described to you how
to place a table and floor lamp, desk and reading light.
This month I will share with you the proper lighting
for applying makeup and sewing. 1) If you use a bedroom
vanity to apply your makeup, the average dressing table
30" high requires a pair of lamps 15" to
the shade center; a 36" dresser should have 22".
Place lamps 18" at each side of mirror center,
6" from the wall. Use white translucent shades
so there will be no distortion of color while you are
applying your make-up. 2) If you enjoy sewing and you
are right-handed, measure 15" to the left from
the center of your sewing. From this point, measure
at a right angle toward the rear of the chair - 12" for
floor lamps, 6" for table lamps. Place the lamp
so center of shade is above this point.
January's Script for Success
As the new year rolls around, most of us set out to
achieve new goals for the upcoming 12 months. The following
suggestions may aid you in reaching your new year's
resolutions.
Don't take on too much. Weigh the value of each task
and take on only what will work.
Focus on only one task at a time.
Take the time to do it right the first time.
Don't major in minors. Get it done, find time later.
Finish what you start. Don't start if you can't finish.
Prepare each night for the next day's activities.
Be realistic about the time necessary to complete projects.
Allocate time for work, play, family, etc.
Review your goals at least once a week.
